What is something you wish you could tell your 20-year-old self ?
If I can advise & send a message back to my 20-year-old self, it might sound something like this:
Dear 20-Year-Old Me,
You don’t need to have everything figured out...!!
The pressure to succeed quickly and make perfect decisions is more than needed.
Life is not a race; it’s a journey of learning and growing.
1. Invest in Your Health Early, Adapt an Active Sports.
Your body remembers everything. Walk & Run regularly. Stay active.
Keep a healthy weight. Eat healthy foods. The habits you form in your twenties will help or hurt you in your sixties.
2. Learn what you like & Follow your passion.
As a person in your 20s, you have a great chance to explore the world. This is a time to find new interests, learn what excites you, and embrace your passions.
Following your passion is important as it can lead to a fulfilling life and help with career choices and personal growth that match who you really are.
3. Manage Time : Time Is More Valuable Than Money
You can make money again, but you can’t get back lost time. Use your time wisely on learning, exploring, relationships, experiences, and meaningful work.
4. Do not hesitate to take advise, Learn to Listen.
Take advice from your parents, siblings, friends, and mentors. Listen, but don’t feel the need to please everyone. Respect others, but don’t lose yourself to gain approval.
5. Learn to Save and Invest
Do not wait for a higher income to start saving. Small, regular saving towards your smallest & biggest goals, Investments can lead to great results over time. Let time work for you.
6. Stay connected with Family & Friends : Relationships Matter More Than Achievements
At the end of life, few people wish they had worked more. Stay close to family and friends. Be present. Listen more and talk less. Show gratitude often.
7. Don’t scare to try, Failure Is a Teacher, Not an Enemy
Many valuable lessons often look like disappointments. Don’t be afraid of mistakes; just be wary of not learning from them.
8. Keep Learning
Read books. Ask questions. Stay curious. The world keeps changing, and those who learn remain young at heart, no matter their age.
9. Simplicity Brings Peace
You do not need to accumulate everything you can. Own what you need. Value experiences over possessions. A simpler life often leads to a calmer mind.
10. Enjoy the Journey
- Do not postpone happiness until some future milestone.
- Celebrate small victories.
- Laugh often.
- Travel when you can.
- Watch sunsets.
- Spend time with people you love.
- Life is happening now—not after the next achievement.
- Don’t scare to adapt changes and take another route.
- Enjoy What You Do !
“Things won’t go exactly as you picture them. Some dreams will shift, some plans might flop, and some cool surprises will pop up. Just go with the flow. Keep it nice, stay curious, stay humble, and keep pushing ahead.”
One day, at sixty, you will realize that the most important things were never the things you owned, but the lives you touched and the person you became.
