Roots & Roads : India Unfiltered ( http://www.goodsoul.in )

BHARAT (i.e. INDIA) lives in its villages.
&
I Plan to visit all states, One Journey at a time !

Though I am born & Raised in BHARAT (i.e. INDIA) , but still a long way to visit and wander into BHARAT (India)

A Journey Yet to Begin :
My Passionate Dream to Explore the Heart of Rural BHARAT (India)

There’s something profoundly magical about rural BHARAT.

  • The untouched beauty,
  • The simplicity of life,
  • The richness of traditions, and
  • The warm, smiling faces waiting to tell their stories.

I’ve always been super into real experiences, and I’ve got this dream of wandering through the villages, tribal hamlets, and those hidden gems in all 28 states of BHARAT.
It’s not just about traveling; it’s all about connecting, listening, learning, tasting, and just soaking it all in.

This isn’t just a journey. It’s a cultural expedition, a food trail, and a soul-finding mission.

In the rush of cities and the chaos of modern life, we often forget where our roots lie.
Rural Bharat ( India ) is where traditions still live in daily routines. Because I believe the real BHARAT (India) breathes in its villages.

These places hold a treasure of:

  • Folk arts and crafts
  • Ancient storytelling traditions
  • Local food with original flavors
  • Traditional farming and ecological wisdom
  • Community-based living and hospitality

BHARAT’s Food as a Cultural Gateway

Food is where culture boils over! I’m all about munching on what the farmers chow down after a long day. From Rajasthan’s Daal-Baati, Bihar’s litti chokha, Gujrat’s Daal-Dhokli & Undhiyu, traditional Kerala meal Sadya to Punjab’s yummy sarson da saag with makki di roti,
It’s all about cooking with the locals, traditional methods of cooking, feasting at their homes, and jotting down those lost recipes that have been passed down through the years.

Festivals, Folklore, and Forgotten Languages

Every village has its rhythm, through music, dance, and seasonal rituals.
I wish to witness:

  • Harvest festivals like Holi, Durga Pooja, Onam, Jamnashtmi, Bihu, and Makar Sankranti in villages.
  • Oral storytelling nights with elders under moonlight.
  • Crafts people at work : Weaving, pottery, brass-making, embroidery and more..
  • Temples of India: Renowned across the world for their intricate architecture and spiritual significance, they serve not only as places of worship but also as a reflection of India’s rich cultural heritage and diversity.

There are tons more cool reasons to check out my country, BHARAT, a.k.a. INDIA!!

Thank you for raising this query here , though entire article mentions BHARAT ( INDIA )
Anyways , you can read following for more information:
      👇🏻 ⬇️

India” and “Bharat” are two names for the same country, with “India” being the more commonly used name in English and internationally, while “Bharat” has historical and cultural significance, particularly within India and its languages. The Indian Constitution uses both names, stating “India, that is Bharat”.

      Here’s a more detailed explanation:
      “India”:
This name is derived from the Indus River and has been used by various groups, including the ancient Greeks, Persians, and Arabs.

      “Bharat”:
This name has roots in ancient Hindu texts like the Puranas and the epic Mahabharata, and it is also the name used in many Indian languages.

      Thank you once again 🙏
