TATTOO !! WHY !!

Daily writing prompt
What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

Skin Deep? Why I’m Staying Ink-Free.

Tattoos. They’re everywhere. From delicate wrist designs to sprawling back pieces, they’ve become a major form of self-expression. And while I admire the artistry and the personal stories etched onto skin, I’ve always known one thing: tattoos aren’t for me.

It’s not that I dislike them aesthetically. Some tattoos are truly stunning works of art.
My reasons are more personal, a blend of practical considerations and a gut feeling.

Firstly, the permanence. The idea of having something permanently inked onto my body feels… daunting. My tastes and preferences evolve. What resonates with me today might not hold the same meaning in ten years. The thought of being stuck with a design I no longer connect with fills me with a sense of unease.

Secondly, the pain factor. While I understand everyone experiences it differently, the thought of needles repeatedly piercing my skin isn’t exactly appealing. I know, I know, “beauty is pain,” but I’m perfectly content admiring the beauty from afar.

Thirdly, my skin is good as it is . Natural is beautiful..!

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I simply don’t feel the need to express myself through tattoos. My body, in its natural state, feels like a canvas I’m comfortable with. I find other ways to express my personality and creativity – through writing, music, and the way I present myself to the world.

This isn’t to say I judge anyone who chooses to get inked. I respect the decision and the stories behind each tattoo. It’s a personal choice, and what works for one person might not work for another.

So, while the world around me embraces the art of tattooing, I’ll happily remain a blank canvas, content with the skin I’m in. And that’s perfectly okay.
