Dishonesty !

In a peaceful village, a hardworking farmer struggled with a lack of water for his farm.

One day, he learned that his neighbour owned a well nearby. The farmer offered to buy the well, and the neighbour, though deceitful, agreed and accepted the payment.

The next day, as the farmer went to draw water, the neighbour stopped him, claiming, “You bought the well, but not the water. The water is mine, and you cannot take it.”

Stunned, the farmer sought advice from Birbal, the wise advisor in Emperor Akbar’s court.

Birbal invited both men to the emperor’s court. When the neighbour insisted the water belonged to him, Birbal cleverly responded, “Since the well now belongs to the farmer, you are trespassing by keeping your water in it. You must either remove the water or pay rent.”

Realizing he had been outsmarted, the neighbour apologized, admitting his deceit.

The farmer was granted full use of the well and water.

Dishonesty may yield short-term gains, but justice prevails.
Cheating ultimately leads to consequences.
