Once a leader went to an old man to ask for votes and handed him Rs 1000/- and said, “Baba ji, vote for me this time.”
Baba Ji said, Son, I don’t want money, but if you want votes then buy a donkey for me.
The leader wanted votes, he went out to find a donkey. But no donkey was found anywhere for less than Rs 20,000/-.
So he came back and told Baba Ji that he could not find any donkey at a reasonable price.
A donkey is worth at least Rs 20,000/-. That’s why I can’t give you a donkey but I can give you 1000 rupees.
Baba Ji said, “Son, don’t embarrass me any more!”
“In your eyes, my value is less than that of a donkey! When a donkey is not sold for less than Rs 20,000/- then I am a human being, how can I be sold for Rs 1000/-?
