Mobile Phones Usage

Mobile phones and specially smartphone are a great tool for :

  • Productivity,
  • communication, and
  • entertainment.
  • Set limits on your screen time. The average American spends about 3 hours and 43 minutes on their phone each day. That’s a lot of time! Set a limit for yourself and stick to it. You can use an app like Moment or Screen Time to track your usage.
  • Turn off notifications. Notifications are a major source of distraction. If you don’t need to be notified about every little thing, turn off notifications for apps that aren’t essential.
  • Put your phone away when you’re in the company of others. It’s rude to be constantly checking your phone when you’re with other people. Put your phone away and give them your full attention.
  • Use your phone for productive purposes. Don’t just use your phone for games, social media, and streaming videos. Use it for things that will help you be more productive, such as reading, writing, or learning a new skill.
  • Take breaks from your phone. It’s important to take breaks from your phone throughout the day. Get up and move around, or do something else that doesn’t involve your phone.
  • Use your phone’s Do Not Disturb mode. This will silence all notifications, so you can focus on what you’re doing.
  • Set a timer for yourself. When you’re using your phone for something, set a timer for 20 minutes. When the timer goes off, take a break.
  • Find a quiet place to use your phone. If you’re in a noisy environment, it’s harder to focus on what you’re doing. Find a quiet place where you can concentrate.
  • Be mindful of your phone use. Pay attention to how you’re using your phone and why. If you find yourself getting sucked into social media or games, take a step back and ask yourself if you’re really using your phone in a productive way.
