Morning Tea

Benefits and drawbacks of habit to drink tea every morning, as well as the cultural and personal meanings it may have.

According to some sources drinking tea in the morning can have several advantages, such as:

  • Clearing the morning brain fog and boosting mental alertness with caffeine and antioxidants.
  • Giving the metabolism a boost and helping with weight management.
  • Helping recovery after a workout by reducing inflammation and muscle soreness.
  • Regulating blood sugar levels for diabetics and preventing spikes and crashes.
  • Reducing intestinal inflammation and improving digestion.

However some sources also warn against drinking tea right in the morning, especially on an empty stomach, as it may:

  • Disrupt the metabolic system due to imbalance of acidic and alkaline substances in the stomach.
  • Cause nausea, acidity, dehydration, or constipation.
  • Interfere with iron absorption and lead to anemia.
  • Affect the teeth enamel and cause staining or decay.

Therefore, it may be advisable to drink tea after having breakfast or a light snack, rather than before

Besides the health aspects, drinking tea in the morning may also have some philosophical implications, depending on how one views tea and its role in one’s life. For some people, tea may be a symbol of culture, tradition, or spirituality.

For example, in China, Japan, India, and other countries, tea has a long history and a rich variety of ceremonies, rituals, and customs associated with it.

Drinking tea in the morning may be a way of connecting with one’s heritage, honoring one’s ancestors, or expressing one’s gratitude for life.

For others, tea may be a source of pleasure, comfort, or relaxation. For example, some people may enjoy the aroma, flavor, and warmth of tea as a way of stimulating their senses, soothing their emotions, or calming their nerves. Drinking tea in the morning may be a way of indulging oneself, pampering oneself, or preparing oneself for the day ahead.

In conclusion, philosophy about tea in the morning can vary depending on one’s perspective and preferences.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question.

However, one thing is certain: tea is more than just a beverage. It is a way of life.
